What would you go after if you knew you didn’t have to do it alone?

Maybe you want a fuller book, a new specialty, more money, stronger technical skills, a leadership role, or something you haven’t quite figured out how to name yet. You don’t need to have the whole thing mapped out. You just need to want to keep moving.

There’s a lot here to help you do that. Clear expectations. Frequent check-ins. Education. Events. Systems that have already been built and tested. A team that will jump into a consultation, lend a second set of hands, talk something through when you’re stuck, celebrate the hell out of your win, and expect you to do the same when it’s theirs.

We’re building toward something much bigger than a room full of people with individual books. If an environment that expects growth sounds exciting instead of intimidating, keep reading...

Before You Apply

We’re intentional about who we bring into this space.

To be considered, include:

  • Your résumé

  • Your Instagram or portfolio

  • What you would like to specialize in

  • A short paragraph about what you're looking for in a salon

Who This Is For

This space tends to work best for people who already give a shit.

The ones asking questions instead of quietly zoning out. The people who redo something because they know it could be better, want to know what’s working in their business and what isn’t, and show up to a check-in ready to talk about where they want to go next. They don’t need to be convinced that marketing themselves matters, that the studio needs to be clean, or that consistency affects everyone in the room.

They want feedback and they actually do something with it. They like knowing what’s expected of them. They’d rather have a clear system to follow than guess what “good enough” looks like, and once they understand the standard, they’re consistent about meeting it.

You don’t need to know everything when you get here. We can teach a lot. We just can’t teach you to want it.

What Makes HairCraft Different

DSC01136-Edit.jpg

We’re not building a team where everyone clocks in, focuses on their own schedule, and clocks back out. What happens in one part of the studio affects the reputation, opportunities, and growth of everyone in it.

That’s why so much here is standardized. The consultation process. The way appointments are paced. The little rituals built into services. The client experience from one person to the next. You still have plenty of room to develop your own style and specialties, but nobody gets to opt out of the things that make HairCraft feel like HairCraft.

And we’re building a lot more of it. More services. More specialties. More opportunities to move into education or leadership. More people to learn from, collaborate with, and eventually refer clients to when they need something you don’t offer. The goal is a network of beauty and creative professionals who can build careers alongside each other instead of in competition with each other.

HairCraft already has a reputation people trust. The question is what you could build with it behind you.

The Environment

You’re going to spend a lot of your week with the people you work with. We think you should actually like being there.

There’s plenty of room to have fun while you work. There are inside jokes, conversations that get wildly off topic, people calling to each other across the room, and days when everyone gets a little too invested in whatever somebody brought up at 10:30 that morning. You’re allowed to have a personality here. In fact, it would be pretty difficult not to.

But fun doesn’t mean nobody has their shit together. When the studio gets busy, everyone knows what needs to happen. Clients are taken care of. Shared responsibilities get handled. The space stays clean. If somebody needs a hand, somebody steps in. You should be able to trust the people around you to do their part without having to chase them down and ask.

That combination matters. We want you to have coworkers you genuinely look forward to seeing and a team you can count on once you get here.

What You Get

You bring the ambition. We put a whole lot behind it.

You’ll have regular one-on-ones to look at how things are going, where you want to go next, and what will actually help you get there. Studio Sessions give you room to create work for the sake of creating it. Strategy Sessions give us time to step outside the day-to-day and work on the bigger picture. Continuing education stays in the budget and on the calendar, because getting better at what you do shouldn’t require figuring everything out on your own time and dime.

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes for your clients, too. Consultation systems, service rituals, amenities, events, loyalty rewards, marketing, and all the other things we keep building to give people more reasons to find HairCraft, come back to HairCraft, and tell their friends about HairCraft. You get to walk into a studio where that work is already happening around you.

Your pricing grows with your skill and demand, with clear benchmarks for moving up. You’ll know where you stand, what you’re working toward, and what happens when you get there. Compensation is 50% service commission plus 10% retail commission, with higher pricing at each level creating more earning potential as you grow.

And your career gets to look like your career. You choose the services you want to offer, the specialties you want to pursue, and the opportunities that make sense for where you want to go. Education, leadership, a packed book, a highly specialized one, or something we haven’t built yet. There are no non-competes and no expectation that everybody’s career should eventually look the same.

You’re still responsible for showing up, marketing yourself, doing the work, and going after what you want. You just don’t have to build every piece of the machine around you while you do it.
